SR1 College Preparatory and STEM Academy is pleased to welcome Joseph Collins as Provost. In this leadership role, Collins will provide strategic direction for academics, school culture, operations, and organizational excellence as SR1 CPSA continues advancing its mission for scholars and families.

Provost Collins brings a strong commitment to academic excellence, educator development, and a culture of high expectations.


His leadership is grounded in intentional planning, meaningful relationships, and continuous improvement—empowering scholars, educators, and the entire SR1 CPSA community to reach their highest potential.

A Record of School Improvement

Throughout his career, Collins has led school improvement efforts by strengthening instructional systems, developing educators, and fostering cultures where both scholars and educators can thrive.


Before joining SR1, Collins led measurable improvements in student achievement, attendance, school culture, and science proficiency.


His leadership also contributed to a significant reduction in student suspensions through restorative practices and a relationship-centered approach to school culture.


Education & Commitment to SR1 CPSA

Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology Education from Alcorn State University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College.


As Provost, he is committed to advancing SR1 CPSA ’s mission and helping create learning environments where scholars are prepared to think critically, lead with integrity, and create meaningful impact through innovation, discovery, and lifelong learning.
